I read this book years ago when someone recommended it to me. My husband and I were living in the Southern California area at the time. God called us to make a life changing move to the midwest to plant a church. I had lived in California for most of my life. My parents also made a life changing move from Portland Maine to Southern California when I was only four years old. I was very young and didn’t have a hard time adjusting, although I missed out having my grandparents around as I grew up.
This book will let you see that you are not alone. Whether your move was expected or unexpected, Susan has encouraging words of comfort. She shares many stories of other women who have experienced the feeling of loss that accompanies a move. Her biblical references are insightful. Susan opens our eyes to the knowledge that God’s word is the solid rock we need in times of uncertainty. When we walk in faith we can be confident that He is always with us no matter where we may travel.
I felt compelled to re-read this book and give a review on it as we have some dear ladies in our church that have also had the same experiences in moving across the country. Change is never easy especially for women. We are the ones who create the nourishing and peaceful environments in our homes. Most of the time we are in charge of making a long move successful for our husbands and children.
Share this book with someone who has recently moved or is in the process of a move and they will be blessed!
