When I see the recent destruction that has happened in Moore Oklahoma, I am taken back by the fact that in forty minutes a tornado can change the lives of so many. It grieves me to hear about all the loss of life. No one woke up that morning knowing what awaited them in the afternoon. None of us knows what the future will hold for us. I know someone who holds our future in His hands. Jesus knows the beginning from the end and everything in between. A lot of why questions are being asked by many. Why would God allow this to happen? We live in a fallen world, where sin, sickness and death are everyday occurrences. The Lord knows it all and has compassion and love for us that we sometimes find difficult to comprehend.
Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
The world has witnessed tragedy after tragedy in the past year. It has made me aware of how important it is to focus on spending time with my family and friends. Time is short, let’s make the most of each and everyday. Make sure that you take the time to say I love you and give lots of hugs! Tomorrow is only a maybe, it isn’t promised to any of us.
