I was thinking about all the storms we have had recently in the midwest and how sometimes in life we go through trials that act like storms. Just like the lightening and thunder, we also can become fearful from our own circumstances. It seems like there is more and more hurt in this area at this time. As a minister’s wife, when I talk with a hurting woman, my heart cries out for them. At times I wonder why they have to go through all the adversities that they are sharing with me. I know we live in a fallen world and we are all sinners and we hurt each other. As christians, we are not exempt from difficulties, we will still experience hardships in our lives. The difference is that we have someone who loves us and will listen to our prayers. Jesus doesn’t always deliver us out of our current difficulties yet he is with us, and He will be by our side. He holds us when we are hurting. Just like a mother comforts their hurting child, He holds us through the storms of life. We all need to hold on to the promises by faith and know that no matter what our circumstances are that He is with us always. He says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. We can find rest for our souls in the presence of Jesus. Just like trials, storms can seem like they last forever when we are in the middle of them, but they all eventually end! Invite Him into your life today, He is waiting for you!
