When I think about the word Thanksgiving I immediately think about God, family and friends. As Christians everyday with the Lord is a day to give thanks.
This Thanksgiving will be very different as we travel to Quincy to visit my mother-in-law who is now in a nursing home. She recently became ill and was in the hospital and now is unable to return home to her assisted living situation. This is a very difficult time for her as she is losing her independence. My husband loves his mother so much I know this is painful for him too. We are so blessed and thankful for all the Thanksgivings that we have shared with her. All the memories of Thanksgivings in the past are safely kept in my memory. This one will not be the typical setting of food and family all around the table in our home but it will be an opportunity to reach out to my mother-in -law and I know we will be blessed. I pray that everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving and remember to give thanks to our Lord Jesus who showers us daily with His blessings.
